Dr. Sakis Gekas, Professor at York University is researching Greek Immigration to Canada.  If you wish to share your story or your family's story, please contact our community.

Greeks began to settle in Canada in the early 19th century.  The immigrants came primarily from the Peloponnese and the Aegean Islands.  Greek Immigration to Canada was slow until the early 20th century; there was an influx of immigration due to political instability and poverty.
